The recycling collecting procedures in Latin American countries are still in progress and need a a strong pushing at different leves of industry and society to reach the standards of recycling. Also a strong learning regards to do the correct waste separation of specific materials is needed.
The private sector, mainly packaging and food industry, is always interested in give a visible support to publics entities and companies involved in all the waste collecting, separation and recycling chain.
Joint ventures between designers, manufacturers and brands of private sector have helped to develop different solutions in this field.
The spirit drink – Whiskey – Buchanan`s was interested in sponsoring this industrial design project with the subsequent result: the Recycling Sistema 05.
Recicla Sistema 05 is a modular set of containers, small dumpsters, for outdoor sites with a scalable option depending on the kind or quantity of waste to be recycled or the place to be sited. Also, it has the option to include an advertisement display (lighted or not). The modularity permits a 4×4 or a lineal disposal (one beside the next).
Materials and manufacture processes: All the system was designed with the material and the manufacture technologies available in the region. Metal: aluminium, iron and inox were used among the different parts. Using plasma cutting, proformer sheet metal and laser cutting machines.
